30 years ago, the late “Fr. Steve” realized the financial need
of the families and elderly parents who had fully grown
children with developmental disabilities who were unable
to care for themselves. For this need he began the
Casey Classic to support the programs operated by
Catholic Charities, Department for Persons with Disabilities.
Monsignor Steven J. Patch was able to find corporate leaders
and generous people who together helped develop the Casey
Classic. Today, the golf tournament has become a premier
charity golf event which has raised more than $1 Million.
For3 decades, countless people have been served and
their lives filled with love and happiness, thanks to these
efforts. The Department for Persons with Disabilities (DPD)
operates nine group homes, two supervised apartment programs
and an employment center along with a network of other
services throughout Morris, Passaic and Sussex Counties.
Through these years corporate leaders and other benefactors
haveworked together to help develop the Casey Classic into
“the corporate response to disabilities” it is today.

“The one day event that translates into love and care
all year long.”
